Abstract
This study aims to examine farmer empowerment programs in relation to food security and the community’s economic conditions. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the issues under investigation. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study, based on observations and interviews, indicate that farmer empowerment programs related to food security and the community’s economy in Lookeu Village have generally been implemented well by the village government. The farmer empowerment programs implemented in Lookeu Village include the provision of subsidized fertilizers, which has been carried out but remains insufficient and unevenly distributed; the distribution of improved seeds; the provision of pest control inputs; assistance in agricultural product management; and the provision of agricultural extension services to the community. In addition, there are supporting aspects such as the construction of farm roads, reservoirs, and irrigation channels, which have not yet fully reached all agricultural areas. Overall, these farmer empowerment programs have contributed to maintaining food security and have provided significant improvements to the community’s economic conditions.
